LiveComedy.net is the consumer website for Shaft Of Wit Comedy, operated by Shaft Of Wit Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”).
We promote live stand-up comedy events at small venues, village halls, pubs, community spaces, theatres and other venues across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and the wider East of England.
Our contact details are:
Website: https://www.livecomedy.net
Email: [mail@mail@shaftofwit.com
Company: Shaft Of Wit Ltd
Registered office: [23 Cannell Road | Loddon | Norwich | NR14 6DW]
For each event, the event listing and your booking confirmation will identify the relevant show, venue, date and ticket arrangements.
2. Tickets and bookings
Tickets are subject to availability and are valid only for the event, date and session specified in your booking confirmation.
Please check your booking carefully before paying, including the event date, venue, ticket quantity and price.
Your booking is confirmed when the purchase process has been completed and a booking confirmation or ticket has been issued.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact details so that we can send your tickets and notify you of important changes.
If you believe your booking is incorrect or you have not received your tickets, please contact us promptly using the details above.
Tickets may be sold through Wix Events or another authorised ticketing provider. Where a third-party provider processes your payment, its checkout and payment terms may also apply.
3. Ticket prices and fees
Ticket prices are displayed on the relevant event listing and during checkout.
Any booking, service or transaction fees will be disclosed during the purchase process before you complete your order.
The total amount payable will be shown before payment is taken.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, tickets admit the named number of people or the number of attendees specified by the ticket type. A ticket does not guarantee a particular seat unless reserved seating is expressly offered.
4. Cancellations, changes and refunds
We make every reasonable effort to deliver events as advertised. However, live events can occasionally be affected by circumstances beyond our control.
If we cancel an event
If we cancel an event and do not provide an alternative performance, we will explain the available refund arrangements and refund eligible ticket payments in accordance with applicable law and the terms of your booking.
Refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method where possible.
If we reschedule an event
If an event is moved to a different date, we will notify ticket holders using the contact details supplied at booking.
Where you cannot attend the rescheduled event, we will explain the available options, including any refund entitlement required by law or the applicable booking terms.
If the venue changes
If we need to change the venue, we will notify ticket holders as soon as reasonably practicable.
Where a venue change materially affects the event or your booking, we will explain the available options in accordance with applicable law.
If a comedian or line-up changes
Comedy is a live performance and performers may occasionally be unable to appear due to illness, travel disruption or other unforeseen circumstances.
Unless a particular performer is expressly identified as the sole or essential subject of the booking, the advertised line-up may be subject to change.
Where a supporting act, compere or member of a mixed bill is replaced, this will not automatically mean that the entire event has been cancelled. We will consider the circumstances and any applicable consumer rights.
If a change materially alters the event as advertised, we will communicate relevant information and deal with any refund entitlement in accordance with applicable law.
Customer cancellations and unwanted tickets
If you can no longer attend an event, please contact us as soon as possible.
Unless a refund or cancellation right applies under law or the specific booking terms, tickets are not automatically refundable simply because a customer changes their mind or cannot attend.
Tickets for a specific date or period of leisure activity are generally excluded from the usual 14-day online cancellation period under UK consumer law. This does not remove your rights where an event is cancelled, materially changed or otherwise covered by applicable consumer protection law.
Where permitted, we may offer a discretionary exchange, credit or other solution, but this is not guaranteed unless confirmed by us.
5. Event times and late arrival
Event listings state the advertised start time. Doors may open earlier, as specified on the listing or ticket.
Please arrive in good time to allow for ticket checks and seating.
Late admission may be delayed until a suitable break in the performance, particularly where entering the room would disrupt the comedian or other audience members.
We cannot guarantee admission after the advertised start time, particularly where late entry would compromise the performance or safety of attendees. If admission is refused, we will consider the circumstances and any applicable legal rights.
Please check the event listing for any specific door-opening, start or finish times.
6. Seating and small-venue arrangements
Many Shaft Of Wit Comedy events take place in intimate venues, including village halls, pubs and community spaces.
Seating arrangements vary by venue. Seating may be reserved, allocated on arrival or unreserved, depending on the event listing and numbers in attendence. In some circumstances. guests may not be seated as indicated on their ticket.
Unless reserved seating is expressly offered and confirmed, purchasing a ticket does not guarantee a particular seat, table or position in the room. Where seating changes occur if the replacement seating is in a different ticket price band, partial refunds will be offered. Where an increase occcurs, no additional charges will be made
Where seating is unreserved, we recommend arriving early if you wish to sit with other members of your party. We cannot guarantee that a group will be seated together.
Please follow instructions from event staff and venue personnel regarding seating, aisles, emergency exits and accessible areas.
7. Age restrictions and suitability
Unless otherwise stated, our comedy events are intended for adult audiences and may contain strong language, adult themes, sexual references or material that some audience members may find offensive.
An event's advertised age restriction takes precedence over any general guidance in these terms.
Where an event is advertised as 18+, attendees may be required to provide valid proof of age. Admission may be refused where the applicable age requirement is not met.
Please check the individual event listing before booking if you are unsure about age suitability or content.
8. Audience behaviour
We want everyone to enjoy the show, including the performers, audience and venue staff.
You must not engage in behaviour that materially disrupts the performance or compromises the safety, comfort or enjoyment of others.

-
Persistent heckling or disruptive interruptions.
-
Fighting, threatening behaviour or intimidation.
-
Deliberately obstructing views, entrances, exits or emergency routes.
-
Ignoring reasonable instructions from authorised event or venue staff.
-
Behaviour that is unlawful or creates a safety risk.
We reserve the right to take reasonable and proportionate action in response to disruptive behaviour. This may include a warning, moving an attendee, refusing further service or requiring an attendee to leave the venue where justified.
Any decision to refuse admission or remove an attendee will be made in the circumstances of the incident and subject to applicable law. Removal does not automatically entitle an attendee to a refund, but this does not affect any legal rights they may have.
9. Venue rules, food and drink
Some events take place in licensed premises or venues with their own rules.
You must comply with reasonable venue requirements, including rules concerning alcohol, smoking, vaping, food, drink, noise, capacity and safety.
The venue may refuse alcohol service where required by law or its licensing obligations.
Unless the event listing states otherwise, food and drink are not necessarily included in the ticket price. Any purchases from a venue may be subject to separate terms and charges.
We are not responsible for goods or services purchased directly from the venue, except where applicable law makes us responsible.
10. Accessibility and additional requirements
We want our events to be accessible wherever reasonably possible.
Small venues vary in their facilities, seating layouts, step-free access, toilets, parking and available space for mobility aids.
If you have accessibility requirements or need to discuss seating arrangements, please contact us before booking where possible. We will do our best to explain the available facilities and discuss reasonable arrangements.
Please do not assume that every venue has the same accessibility facilities. Contact us if the event listing does not provide enough information for you to make an informed booking.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any duties or rights under applicable equality or accessibility law.
11. Photography, filming and recording
Unauthorised audio recording, video recording or photography of performances may be prohibited by the event organiser, performer or venue.
Please follow any restrictions announced at the event.
From time to time, we or an authorised photographer may take photographs or record footage for promotional, editorial or archival purposes.
Where photography or filming is planned, we will take reasonable steps to provide appropriate notice. If you have concerns about appearing in promotional material, please speak to an event representative before the show where possible.
We will handle identifiable photographs and recordings in accordance with applicable data protection law. We will not rely on these terms alone as permission for any use that requires separate consent or another lawful basis.
You must not record or publish another attendee's identifiable image in a manner that infringes their rights or applicable law.
12. Ticket resale and transfer
Tickets must not be resold for commercial gain, used for unauthorised commercial promotions or offered in a way that misrepresents the event.
Where ticket transfers are permitted, the original purchaser remains responsible for ensuring that the recipient receives the correct ticket and understands the event details.
We may refuse tickets that are reasonably suspected to be fraudulent, duplicated, invalid or obtained through unauthorised resale, subject to applicable law.
If you believe a ticket has been duplicated, lost or misused, contact us as soon as possible.
13. Event cancellation or interruption due to unforeseen circumstances
Events may occasionally be affected by circumstances such as severe weather, transport disruption, venue problems, illness, public safety concerns or other events beyond our reasonable control.
We will assess the circumstances and take reasonable steps to communicate important changes and minimise disruption.
Where an event cannot proceed, is interrupted or is materially changed, any refund, rescheduling or alternative arrangement will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the specific circumstances.
Nothing in this section removes any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Our responsibilities and liability
We will exercise reasonable care and skill in organising and promoting our events and in providing the services covered by your booking.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to those restrictions, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the booking was made or for matters outside our reasonable control.
You remain responsible for taking reasonable care of your personal belongings. Any arrangements for lost property may depend on the venue hosting the event.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you have a problem with a booking or an event, please contact us and provide your booking reference, the event details and a description of the issue.
We will review your concerns and aim to respond within a reasonable period.
Where an issue relates to the venue or a third-party ticketing or payment provider, we may need to contact that organisation to investigate.
Nothing in this section restricts your right to pursue any legal remedy available to you.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The version applicable to a booking will generally be the version made available when the booking is completed, subject to any later changes required by law or agreed with the customer.
