1. What Is an Essential Companion Ticket?
An Essential Companion Ticket is a discounted ticket for a person accompanying an eligible customer to provide disability-related support during an event.
The discount applies to the companion's ticket only. The eligible customer must purchase their own ticket at the advertised price.
Under our standard scheme, one discounted companion ticket is permitted per eligible booking.

2. Companion Ticket Price
The companion ticket is charged at:
50% of the standard ticket face value, plus any applicable booking fees.
The discount is calculated against the standard face value of the equivalent ticket. Applicable booking fees are added to the discounted companion-ticket price and will be shown during checkout.
The eligible customer's own ticket is charged at the advertised price.

3. Where the Scheme Applies
The Essential Companion Ticket scheme described on this page applies exclusively to tickets purchased through the LiveComedy.net online box office.
Some events may be sold directly by the venue or through another ticketing provider. In these cases, the venue's or ticket seller's companion-ticket procedures, eligibility requirements and charges may differ.
If tickets are sold directly by the venue, please contact its box office to confirm the applicable policy and booking procedure.
Different ticketing arrangements do not remove any applicable legal obligations to disabled customers.

4. Eligibility and Evidence
Standard eligibility requirement
To qualify for an Essential Companion Ticket under our standard scheme, customers must hold a valid Nimbus Disability / CredAbility Access Card displaying the relevant +1 or +2 symbol.
The relevant symbol must support the need for a companion. An Access Card without the relevant symbol does not, by itself, qualify a customer for the standard discounted companion-ticket scheme.

If you do not hold an eligible Access Card, we recommend contacting Nimbus Disability to ask about applying for one.
If you cannot obtain or provide an eligible Access Card and believe you require an alternative arrangement because of your disability, please contact Shaft Of Wit Comedy before booking wherever possible.

We will consider your circumstances and any applicable legal obligations on an individual basis. The standard evidence requirement does not remove any applicable duty to consider reasonable adjustments.
We do not routinely require detailed medical records for the standard scheme.

5. How to Book
To arrange an Essential Companion Ticket through the LiveComedy.net online box office:

1. Confirm that you hold an eligible Access Card displaying the relevant +1 or +2 symbol.

2. Contact Shaft Of Wit Comedy to obtain a companion-ticket discount code.

3. Purchase your own ticket through the LiveComedy.net online box office at the advertised price.

4. Select the equivalent companion ticket and enter your discount code as instructed at checkout.

5. Check the final price before completing your purchase. The companion ticket should be charged at 50% of its standard face value, plus any applicable booking fees.

Only one discounted companion ticket is available per eligible booking under the standard scheme.

6. Additional Access Requirements
We recognise that individual access needs vary.

We will consider your request individually and, where appropriate, discuss possible arrangements with the venue. Requests will be considered in light of the circumstances and any applicable legal obligations.

7. Accessibility and Emergency Arrangements
Accessibility facilities and emergency arrangements vary between venues.
Please contact us before booking if you need information about step-free access, seating, accessible toilets or other facilities.
If you or your companion may require assistance during an emergency evacuation, please let us or the venue know before the event wherever possible. We can help facilitate a discussion with the venue about appropriate arrangements, including an individual Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) where suitable.
The availability and suitability of arrangements depend on the venue, its facilities and individual requirements. The venue's applicable safety procedures and legal responsibilities remain in place.

Not all disabilities or access needs are visible.
If you have a hidden disability, medical condition or other support need that our staff or the venue team should be aware of, or if sharing information would help us prepare for your visit, you are welcome to contact us before the event.

Advance notification can help us prepare but cannot guarantee that every requested arrangement will be available.
